Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as its Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. She covers everything, starting with NASA, Space Force, Space Force and commercial space companies, to the emergence of Space Tourism. Kristin was born into the space sector as the granddaughter and daughter of NASA astronauts. For the last five years, she's been covering space policy under the Biden and Trump Administrations in FOX News. She also covered the 2020 presidential race and efforts by two administrations to combat the coronavirus. She traveled extensively with both the president and vice-president also included an official trip to Afghanistan that she made along with Donald Trump. Kristin was a local television reporter in Grand Junction, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas, Washington, D.C., in which she was awarded the Emmy Award for her work as an "one-man-band" reporter prior to joining CBS in 2015. Kristin, who is an experienced filmmaker, established Field Mouse Films, a firm that is specialized in documentary style films, for companies such as Uber and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Boston University. She and her husband, who is three years old, daughter live in Washington, D.C.
